GFG Kicks off its 2012 Season

Happy February all!
I am busting at the seams with so many neat things that are going on within GFG.

What am I so excited you ask?  Well – have you looked at the calendar lately?  It's jam packed!
Spring golf is on the calendar between Vancouver and Fraser Valley just about every weekend from February 26th through April.

Here are some program highlights to schedule between your golf games...

Advanced Rules and Handicap Workshop on April 14th at Mayfair Lakes

If you are interested in golfing in any of our BC Golf designated competitions (match play, Solheim Cup, Canada Cup, Club Championship, etc.) then this workshop is a MUST for you to attend. There have been significant changes to the rules effective January 1st this year AND substantive changes to the application of Equitable Stroke Control. You will want to attend this workshop – for sure.We also have a couple of Rules & Etiquette Seminars (May 16th and June 6th) – all these are on the Vancouver calendar but at relatively central locations.

Lesson Programs

Patty Jonas has some lesson programs on the Fraser Valley calendar and Ginny Golding on Vancouver.Remember – if you’re not taking lessons at the beginning of the season at least – you’re going backwards with your game – not forwards.

Vancouver Golf Show

We will be at the Golf Show this year – March 3rd and 4th, and that is always exciting.  We need 6 more volunteers to work for the Show. These volunteers will receive a volunteer shirt, admission to the Golf and Travel Show, and 2 rounds of golf, so if you are able to help out please contact us.

The LPGA is coming to town!

The 2012 CN Canadian Women’s Open is at The Vancouver Golf Club in Coquitlam this year – August 20 to 26.If you’re interested in getting tickets or volunteering – visit www.cncanadianwomensopen.com.  What a great opportunity to get up close and personal with the stars of the LPGA.  You won't want to miss it.  Those girls rock!

Annual Maui Women's Classic

Our 5th Annual Maui Women’s Classic is on November 17th at Kahili Golf Course, and already I have heard there are at least 10 members coming to Maui at that time.  Check out last year's fun-filled event.

Doesn't that look like a hoot?  You definitely won't want to miss this year's.
